Conflict-related deaths in Northern Ireland since the 1994 ceasefires
Many people do not realise how high the death toll has been since the ceasefires. Every death is one death too many and we regret each and every one of them and sympathise with the pain of their loved ones.
Those who are concerned about the situation in Northern Ireland need objective factual information about what is happening there, and we have decided to make the results of our research available on our website. If, as we ruefully anticipate, there are further deaths we will update this information.
We have made every effort to be accurate, but it is not always easy to decide whether a death is conflict-related or not, and there are often conflicting media reports and claims and counter claims. If we have inadvertently offended anyone by the inclusion of inaccurate information, we sincerely apologise. If anyone spots any errors, or has additional information about any of these deaths, please let us know.
